Best Bud of 2013: My Top 5 Favorite Marijuana Strains This Year

bud strains1.  Apollo 13– This kush is more of my style. It is not as fruity as the other popular marijuana types out there, therefore not as sough after, but it is my go to bud for smoking. It has a very unique smell that is pretty earthy and a little skunky. It is not as strong as other types of bud, but allows you to function and still provide that much needed relaxation.

2. Sour Diesel– This is a dark green plant with orangish leaves. It lasts a long while approx 3-4hours and you got a good head buzz going. Its sour name comes from the smell it leaves rather than the taste that it leaves in your mouth. I was told it has a little bit higher THC content than other herbs out there, and after smoking this shit, I have no reason to doubt this fact.

3. Blueberry Yum Yum– It has a unique color not unlike that of a blueberry, hence the name. It even smells like blueberries! I usually don’t like my weed to me too fruity, but this one I make an exception too.  It is very, very strong kush and after smoking this I usually don’t do any sort of work related activities or go out.

4. Purple Kush– Although this is not at the top of my list, this is probably one of the strongest buds I have ever smoked. It is sort of sweet when you exhale the smoke and earthy when you are inhaling. It is pretty fast acting as I usually feel it after only 5 minutes of smoking.

5. AK 47– This pointy green plant gives me a good high lasting about an hour. I usually smoke this when I have to work on some project at home or when I am answering work emails. It doesn’t make me all crazed, rather it gives me a relaxed attitude.

I have yet to try that Apollo, or that Blueberry. Definitely had some of the most potent buds ever when I lived in Denver, though 😀

    Fun page man!

Need to shoot over to Denver to see what they got cultivating. I’m sure they are on par with the stuff coming outta Cali. Good to hear that Colorado’s quality control is on point. Thanks for reading my man!

I also want to come up with a post about my best buds of the year! Haha. Awesome post.

    • datdank says:

dude you can do it, these lists are so opinion based, love to see what others got to say!

To be honest, I don’t know how to call those buds that I have tried over the years. Oftentimes, the effect was very relaxing but there were times when I get knocked out, big time. My husband’s number 1 rule is that I should never buy on my own, he provides everything so I won’t have to look for one. After reading this post, I realized I was not really familiar with the types of buds I’ve smoked before, I never asked. I just light em up and do my thing. You just gave me a great idea. Haha. Thank you!

Like I was telling another reader, if its green, its clean! Who cares what we smoke as long as it makes us feel good and we do it responsibly.
Thanks for the input too, Due to the high interest, I’m going to be changing the layout of the blog to include a whole bud review section. I think it’ll be fun! make sure to hit me up when you review some weed, i can’t wait to read it!!

I grabbed that Blueberry Yum Yum from Rite Greens here in town. Incredible bud. Very much like a Blue Dream.

    • datdank says:

Awesome! i do see that it’s fairly popular but not at the dispensaries for sure. I’ve been seeing it a bit more at the end of this year though. I agree, it is similar to a blue dream

Hey, I really enjoyed the read. I rarely drink and don’t smoke, couldn’t if I wanted to. In the escorting biz you have to be clear headed at all times. But I do admirer how knowledgeable you are regarding the subject. You are a real weed connoisseur! I do have a question for you though. Maybe you can help. Many years ago (like back in the 90’s) weed used to look different. Sort of dry, with a uniform, flat texture. This stuff looks to have a fluffy, sort of coating over it. Why does weed look so different now?

    • datdank says:

That’s an awesome question, back then weed was weed and smoking to get high was just that. People have become so evolved in the industry where weed is now a commodity. They are grown to be more potent and the white coating you see all over the buds is THC (the stuff that gets you high). Now growers find the best conditions to get the most THC out of their plants. Its kinda like when you used to go to the market and there used to be only a few types of beers and wines, now you have a few aisles dedicated to beers and wine to choose from 🙂

Thanks for reading and I really enjoy your blog 🙂

      • THE KEPT BBW says:

At the risk of sounding completely uninformed. Woooow! You mean to tell me that all that fuzzy stuff is thc? Ya’ll got to be #floating for real, lol! That’s what’s up. Thanks, you’re very informative and your blog is awesome!

I wonder how long it’s going to take for Texas to legalize?? It’s a very red state, unfortunately…

    • datdank says:

I feel that the bible belt and the south/deep south are going to be the last to start any legalization processes. Even though Texas is home to some of the biggest cities in the U.S., the conservative nature of the state will definitely hold it back for years to come. But, not all hope is lost because there are plenty of grassroots movements sprouting up in Texas and we can only hope for the best 🙂 Thanks for your comments greyzoned!! People like you make me excited to write week after week
